Hose End Sprayer – How to Choose the Right Sprayer For the Job
A hose end sprayer is a sprayer nozzle assembly tool which enables liquid products to be mix into water at the end of an elongated hose. This handy tool offers a fast and convenient method for consumers to apply liquid fertilizer to their lawn or garden. Although there are several hose-ender sprayers which are capable of being used for both dry and wet products, for now we will be discussing only those intended for liquids only. The majority of consumers choose to use this type of sprayer because it’s easier to mix products into a concentrated solution, reducing the time needed for a professional gardener. Other than its convenience, the hose nozzle assembly also offers greater control when spraying large areas of land compared to other sprayers on the market.
The two main features of this sprayer are the concentrate container and the dial control. The concentrate container is typically made of plastic or polycarbonate, and houses the actual liquid you wish to spray in a larger bottle than your typical garden hose. This compartment is then secured in the housing by a long thread, nylon screw, or similar fittings which allow you to pour your concentrate right inside the bottle.
This concentrate compartment is sealed against the bottle, preventing air from penetrating it. This is accomplished via an O-ring. The compartment is then capped with an O-ring, sealing it closed. The overall length of the hose is typically between four to thirty feet, depending on the model and nozzle.
Another feature found on a majority of hose reels is the dial. This dial allows you to precisely spray your grass or plants with precise timing and duration. When you press the dial, it automatically sprays your grass or plants at a targeted height and depth. This is extremely helpful when attempting to trim grass and plants that tend to grow rather quickly. You can achieve the proper level of coverage with just a few clicks of the trigger.
The main features of the Hose End is the concentrate container and the dial. The Hose End features a plastic cup which is pre-filled with your chosen ratio of concentrate. You then select a target spray height and, once pressed, it conveniently dispenses your pre-mixing required for your job. This makes this sprayer incredibly handy for those busy jobs around the house or garden.
A third feature that is found on this model is the hose nozzle. This spray nozzle is fixed to the Hose End rather than the side of the unit, giving the user a more streamlined and professional look. You can use either standard or universal fittings to attach this hose to your hose pipe or water line. Many users find the fixed rate sprayers much easier to control. The hose does not get wiggled by the wind and there is no swaying left in the spray when you apply pressure to the spray nozzle.
These are generally well built machines and will last for years. Some users report having trouble with some of the hose material and say that the hose might rust over time. Some of these units also do not have very many settings and as a result, you might only be able to adjust the amount of water delivered or how much of the product you apply.
However, if you are using the hose end sprayer with a larger variety of polymer bottles, you may find that this machine will be perfect for your needs. The other benefit of the hose-ended sprayer is that it dispenses just enough product for your application. You can adjust the level so that the little product that you spray is just right for the job at hand. It is very handy when you are doing the work during the day when there is little room to do more than apply the right amount of coating.
