Insecticide For Vegetable Gardens – 5 Ways To Protect Your Vegetables From Pests

It is recommended that any insecticide for vegetable garden be certified by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The ESEAs or Environmental Safety Standards set down guidelines for the use of insecticides on plants. These standards are followed by most countries outside the United States. They are very important to the health and safety of humans as well as animals.

Insecticide for Vegetable Garden Insects will keep your vegetables healthy and safe from certain insects that destroy them. Some of the most common ones are: Coccidians, ladybugs, lacewings, leafhoppers, cabbage worms, spider mites, aphids, tomato hornworms and so on. These insects sometimes eat organic vegetables but you can also apply insecticides for vegetable gardening if you want to ensure your produce is organic.

There is a big difference between residual insecticides and an organic way of pest control. Residuals are applied continuously to the foliage and soil, generally over a period of time until they do not exist any longer. Organic control methods involve using natural organic pesticides like those found in fruits and vegetables, for example, organic tomatoes, onions, garlic, broccoli, peppers and so on. They do not cause harm to the environment. However, when used on vegetable gardens, it is good to make sure they are labeled as residual pesticides to prevent unnecessary exposure to them.

It is better to apply organic pesticides than the petroleum-based pesticides, as they are safer for human consumption. Organic pesticides are usually made from natural ingredients like neem oil. Neem oil is a plant oil from the neem tree that has been used since ancient times for insect bites, skin rashes and itching. Neem oil can be mixed with water to make a paste like substance that can be applied to the leaf blades, stems and leaves. This type of insecticide is applied to the soil to ensure there are no residual effects on the plants.

One of the most effective ways to get rid of pests in vegetable gardens is to inter compost. This involves creating rich compost that should be added to the soil in the garden to help the growth of the plants. To complete the task, cover the compost well after covering it. This will attract beneficial insects to take advantage of the new compost that would otherwise feed on the vegetables. The best time to do it is when the plants are still young and infestations of pests are still frequent. Do it right and the result will be a healthy garden full of healthy vegetables that are free from any insect infestations.

Another way of protecting plants from pests and to control insect growth is to implement a blend of natural detergents like lavender oil, lemon grass oil, borax or dish wash. These detergents have a residual effect on insects which helps to reduce their reproduction process and hence, their numbers. A combination of detergents is also useful if you cannot find the specific ingredient you are looking for. In this case, add a bit of each detergent in the required quantities and use them in order to create a treatment solution. This treatment solution should be sprayed over the garden to ensure it is completely cleared.

Another powerful method of controlling insect growth in vegetable gardens is the introduction of beneficial predators. Examples of these are lady birds that keep pests away by eating them. Ladybirds can be bought from pet shops or can be kept in a bird cage. Other types of birds that can be introduced are woodpeckers, crows, chipmunks and ground squirrels. Although these methods do cost money, they have been proven to be very effective in the long run and are much cheaper than the use of chemical pesticides.

The last method of pest control which should also be considered is the use of beneficial insects. These include predators such as white-tailed deer, coyotes, bobcats, owls, foxes, rats and rabbits. In the case of the deer, you can shoot them if necessary or you can entice them with some food by painting large holes on your vegetable garden. Other beneficial insects are managers such as lady birds, dragonflies and beetles. They can all be controlled by applying an insecticide especially if they are found to be abundant in the area.
