Propane Generator

Propane Generators are the preferred generator of choice for millions all across the nation. That is especially true for people who lose electricity often, but we will get to that at a later time. Propane quickly gained in popularity during the late 20th century. At that time, only Minnesota, Washington, and a few other states made use of it. By 1947, Wisconsin alone used 250 million cubic feet of propane gas.

But is propane gas right for everyone? Is it safe? Can you just hand it over on a gas station? Absolutely not. Like any other fuel, there are inherent hazards associated with using it. If you are going to use a propane generator, you should follow the safety precautions laid out in the owner’s manual that came with your unit.

Before you even start to fill your tank, remember that a propane generator is just like any other fuel powered device. There are inherent risks associated with operating it. You should always read and follow the manufacturer’s user’s manual. Even if you feel that you already know what to do, don’t be tempted to skip this step. Doing so could end up causing serious problems with your generator later on.

For example, did you know that some liquid propane generators (like the ones that run on natural gas) can leak liquid when you start to draw air in them? This can cause a very serious issue. The liquid can enter your eyes and possibly get in your nose. Inhaling the fumes can also cause dizziness, headaches, and can make you light-headed. Be especially careful to follow these rules when using your air conditioner, humidifier, or microwave. These are all devices that can overheat and cause problems for you.

When it comes to gasoline generators, you have two main options. First, you can use the regular gas in it. Second, you can use propane generators that plug into a cigarette lighter. Both of these options are less expensive and much easier on your budget. However, keep in mind that gasoline is still a natural resource that is being depleted at an alarming rate.

Another good reason to go with a propane generator rather than a gasoline powered one is that it’s easier to take care of. They tend to last a lot longer than the gas units, which means you can easily maintain them yourself. Of course, this will mean that you’ll have to have them ready when you need them, but it will be less costly to maintain. In fact, you can simply buy the fuel at your local hardware store for less than $30. Also, your fuel source (such as gasoline) won’t be affected by a power outage. This is a huge benefit if you live in an area that experiences power outages quite often.

Most of the time, the smaller generators are powered by the use of compressed natural gas (CNG). You can also find propane generators that run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), but this option tends to be more costly. The main difference between these two fuels is that LPG fuel is much cheaper per gallon than CNG. In addition, LPG fuel releases a toxic gas when it burns that’s similar to the odor emitted from cooking gas, which means it can be harmful to breathe for long periods of time. CNG on the other hand, releases no fumes and is non-toxic.

There are also differences between regular gasoline and propane generators. For example, regular gasoline generators tend to operate at lower capacities than propane ones. This is because the fuel source is gasoline and it takes a much longer period of time before the fuel reaches full burn. On the other hand, a propane generator runs at full capacity immediately. With the increased safety of working with portable power, it is usually preferred over gasoline or LPG generators.
